One Month of Sole of Seoul — When a Small Idea Starts to Feel Real

There is a strange feeling that comes with starting something of your own.

You spend months thinking, planning, changing your mind, and checking every little detail. For a long time, the idea exists mostly in your own head.

Then one day, you put it out into the world.

Will anyone find us? Will someone like what we have made? And will anyone actually place an order?

A little over a month ago, Sole of Seoul opened its doors.

Colour has been at the heart of Sole of Seoul from the beginning. We did not want to offer only a few basic shades. We wanted people to choose what felt right for them — soft neutrals, deep tones, bright colours, or something unexpected.

So we launched The Daily Canvas in 83 colours.

We loved the idea. But honestly, it also felt a little scary.

Then the first order arrived.

Someone had looked through all those colours, made a choice, and trusted this very new little brand enough to place an order.

We still remember packing that first box. We checked the colours once, then again, and probably one more time just to be completely sure.

Suddenly, they were somebody’s socks.

Since then, more orders have followed — some from people who already knew us, and some from people we had never met before. Every time, it still feels special.

We also realized that we wanted each Sole of Seoul parcel to feel personal. So every order is packed in a box, wrapped in tissue paper, and sent with a small card that shares a little of our story.

Sole of Seoul began with my Korean roots, memories of Seoul, a love of colour, and the belief that everyday essentials do not have to be boring.

We are still at the very beginning, but before moving on to what comes next, we simply want to say thank you.

To everyone who has found us, followed along, sent a message, told someone about Sole of Seoul, or trusted us with an order — you have made this first month very special.

Someone found us.

And somehow, this small idea is starting to feel very real.

With love,
